Overview:
In addition to teaching core subject material in regular classrooms, the HiSet Teacher will be responsible for coordinating the HiSet program for participating students: instructing, planning, and developing learning plans on an individual basis to aid in preparation for proctored exams and assisting in arrangements for final testing.
Job Responsibilities:
- Teaches students in an alternative high school setting.
- Works with students individually to meet weekly academic goals.
- Advises and monitors students’ credits toward graduation.
- Create and deliver individual lesson plans for students participating in the HiSet Options Program
- Monitor and evaluate students progress in the HiSet Options Program
- Use a variety of standardized test to determine appropriate lessons
- Coordinate with HiSet testing center at FVCC
- Have a general knowledge of high school English, Math, Social Science, and Science
- Teaches content curriculum as outlined by District No. 5 curriculum guides and the department.
- Meets the diverse needs of students in the classroom by providing an appropriate learning environment.
- Provides quality instruction by using effective lesson plan development and strategies.
- Establishes effective classroom management, safety procedures, and behavior expectations.
- Works creatively, cooperatively, and establishes positive relationships with colleagues and guardians of students.
- Participates in school and district professional development activities.
- Attends building and district meetings as required.
- Supports Special Education students by implementing IEP and 504 plans.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the building administration or department head which may include, but are not limited to the following: monitor hallways, monitor assemblies, and conduct parent teacher conferences.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education; AND,
- State of Montana Educator license with secondary endorsement(s).
Preferred Qualifications:
- State of Montana Educator license with endorsements in Math, Social Studies, or Science.
Physical Demands:
- Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, lift, and carry items up to 40 pounds.
