Salary: $15.48-$17.18.  218 days + 8 holidays.  

 

Fiscal Specialist - Central Kitchen is an energetic professional who is adaptable and able to perform multiple functions.  They are experienced in handling a wide range of administrative duties and executive support-related tasks and able to work independently with little or no supervision. They are well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting an office of diverse staff.

 

Benefits include: a comprehensive benefit plan, Montana State retirement plan (PERS), overtime eligible, PLUS 8-days holiday pay, 15-days paid vacation, 12-days sick leave and 3 personal days to start. Employees are eligible for $500 bonus in June.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Account for daily breakfast and lunch sales for all schools using the designated software package for point of sale services.
  • Prepare daily and monthly sales reports and meals served reports.
  • Account for all ala carte sales including vending machines and contracted vendor services.
  • Post daily receipts by category to the computer system.
  • Prepare the monthly Federal reimbursement claim and file the same electronically with the State Office of Public Instruction.
  • Make daily bank deposits after all sales reports are reconciled.
  • Sort daily food service mail.
  • Reconcile invoices received against orders made, verifying all goods and services are received prior to sending a request for expenditure to the Business Office.
  • Maintain free and reduced lunch applications, entering the same on the computer and providing system updates periodically.
  • Work with the high school technology facilitator maintaining daily backup routines and
  • software upgrades.
  • Maintain and review student accounts on a regular basis.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the annual food service operating budget.
  • Assist other food service staff as workload demands - at the discretion of the Supervisor.
  • Other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Knowledge of general office procedures and practices.
  • Skill in arithmetic, grammar, spelling, record keeping and compiling materials for reports.
  • Ability to become proficient and successfully operate personal computers and spreadsheets, database, word processing, or other software packages.
  • Skill in the operation of a variety of office machines including personal computers, telephones and copiers.
  • Skill in critical thinking, problem analysis, and resolution.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain first aid certification upon employment.
  • Ability to maintain effective professional relationships with staff, students, and parents.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Skill, dedication, and aptitude for working with students.
  • Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to maintain regular and acceptable attendance levels.
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping and accounting methods
  • Knowledge of personal computers and accounting software.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and four years of increasingly responsible administrative
  • support experience; OR,
  • Associate degree in relevant field of study and two years of increasingly responsible
  • administrative support experience.

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to stand on feet for extended periods of time, stoop, bend, lift and carry items up to 40 pounds.
